Pooks and Boots, two adorable kitties, were lost in the cold wilderness. They meet a new friend that they named Bandit. Together they learn how to survive and were rescued. Pooks and Boots eventually find a warm loving home where they meet Jesus! They learn that when they help others, they are helping Him.
The story is based on the Bible verse Matthew 25:34-40. The story uses this verse to teach children when they help those in need, they are helping Jesus. Children will also learn during this adventurous story that Jesus is much stronger and better than any superhero they know, and He is real and can live inside them!

The story opens with the nameless kitties—"left in the wilderness with no family, no mommy, no daddy, and no friends!”—desperate for food and shelter, wandering through the woods as they search for water. In their travails, they happen upon an injured cat—who is also lost and without a family—and quickly bond, bandaging his wounds and promptly naming him Bandit. For a short time, the trio forages together, playing and enjoying each other’s company, until a kind stranger rescues them and drops them off at an animal shelter. But that’s not the end for these fearless felines, and Wood portrays their road to adoption in compassionate, tender tones.
Christian readers will appreciate how Wood weaves biblical principles throughout this heartfelt narrative. When a kind couple adopts the two main cats—and names them Pooks and Boots—they take them to a comfortable, warm home where their every need is provided for—including their spirituality. The story is based on the Bible verse Ephesians 6:10-20…the Armor of God! Pooks and Boots teach about the helmet of salvation, breastplate of righteousness, shield of faith, sword of the spirit, belt of truth and planting their feet in God’s peace.
In this adorable tale, they learn how to use the Armor of God to defeat the enemy and his lies when he attacks them with things like bullies, sickness, and sadness! They will learn because Jesus lives in them, they can put on the whole Armor of God knowing they are saved, healed, and protected every day! The ending has an impactful message showing victory in all things with Jesus!

Spirits remain high in this third entry, which finds the plucky felines setting out to help young Michael gain entrance to the Space Academy Science Competition by regaling him with stories of David and Goliath from the Bible—and inspiring him to feel real confidence while reaching for the stars. By pointing out that Michael and David have a lot in common—they’ve both been told they’re too young to achieve their goals—Pooks and Boots remind Michael and readers that, with “the Lord on [your] side,” he can succeed, even when the odds are stacked against him.
